How Many People Applied for Jio Platforms IPO in India?
Record 1.38 Crore Jio IPO Applications and Subscription Details
The Jio Platforms Limited IPO drew 1.38 crore applications, the highest number ever received for an Indian IPO. The three-day bidding window closed on October 23, 2026, and the issue was subscribed 22.19 times overall. With allotment due to be finalised on Monday, October 26, 2026, and shares tentatively set to list on the BSE and NSE on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, many applicants are now waiting to learn whether they have been allotted shares.
Jio Platforms IPO Application Count
The issue received a total of 1.38 crore applications, which sets a new record for an Indian public offer. The response was strong from the first day of bidding. The offer was fully subscribed within roughly 100 minutes of opening on October 21, making it the fastest fully subscribed IPO in the country’s history.
Category-Wise Subscription
Demand was spread across all investor segments. Qualified institutional buyers placed the heaviest bids, followed by non-institutional investors. The retail portion also received bids above the shares reserved for it. The table below shows how each category fared.
| Investor Category | Subscription (Times) |
|---|---|
| Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) | 70.55x |
| Non-Institutional Investors (NIIs) | 14x |
| Retail Individual Investors | 2.72x |
| Overall | 22.19x |
What High Subscription Means for Allotment
Since the issue was subscribed 22.19 times, applicants asked for far more shares than were on offer. As a result, not every applicant will receive an allotment. Those who are allotted shares will see them credited to their demat accounts, while the amount blocked for unsuccessful applications should be released under the applicable ASBA or UPI mandate process. Investors can check their status on the registrar’s website, KFin Technologies, as well as on the BSE and NSE websites once the results are published.
